The Unseen by Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Lost, Dirty Sexy Money) is an electrifying confrontation that shatters the façade of repression and exposes the deep wounds of authoritarian power. This new, riveting production is now open at Riverside Studios, where audiences are invited to explore the topics of the play in accompanying talks and an internationally acclaimed exhibition.
Set in a totalitarian regime, two strangers—Wallace and Valdez—are imprisoned without cause, confined to cells with only the faintest whispers between walls to maintain hope. Through their covert communication, they share dreams and disillusionments, trying to make sense of a world that strips them of dignity and humanity. Meanwhile, their captor—wrought with inner conflict—is torn between duty and guilt that haunts him.
Starring Waj Ali (Carnival Row; King Lear), Richard Harrington (Fisherman’s Friends: One and All; Home I’m Darling) and Ross Tomlinson (Allelujah; This Is Going To Hurt), Craig Wright's The Unseen exposes the isolation, guilt, and dehumanising effects of totalitarian repression in a thought-provoking drama reminiscent of Waiting For Godot.
